Located on the picturesque banks of the Jangja River in Chungcheong Province, Kanggye, North Korea, Renfeng Tower was originally built in 1472 and underwent a major renovation in 1680. It was originally a fortified post in the northwest corner of Kanggye City, offering breathtaking views and earning a reputation as one of the Eight Scenic Views of Western Korea since ancient times. Renfeng Tower attracts numerous visitors each year.

The front side of Renfeng Tower consists of 5 buildings with a total floor area of approximately 171 square feet and a length of around 18.75 feet. The side features 3 buildings with a width of about 8.9 meters, designed with double eaves and hipped roofs. At the rear, there are 4 rooms with a pillar for military instructors to ascend and descend the building. The front part of the tower is two stories high, while the rear part is single-story, supported by 24 pillars, each 1.18 feet high, under the floor. Additionally, there are 15 cylindrical columns on the outer side of the floor. The cylindrical columns at the corners are slightly taller and incline slightly inwards compared to the others. The rafters and beams are carved with various beautiful patterns. In recent years, the surrounding area has been designated as a “recreational park” for leisurely visits by tourists.
